The Mountains Do Care 28 Oct 2023

Do you know you can look at the mountains and ponder on your passing and think to yourself, “the mountains don’t care.”

And you would be wrong, true they cannot do anything immediately to extend your life.  Everything has its day and its cycle, even they on a much grandeur scale.  But they do care and do much for you already. They enrich your day with their beauty and their majesty.  The Light and Shadow playing upon them changing them hour to hour.  The seasons changing them and changing their colors, the subtlety of hue.   So, they are a gift and they do care.  They are all part of this life on Earth with their huge histories that they hold, marching on through the ages their rock held high.

And while the Dude abides, the mountains truly abide.

On Mountains and Clocks and Us and Them 03 April 2024

It’s not true that the mountains don’t care.  It’s because we move so fast even when we think we’re still, that they cannot see us.  We are not even a blur to them.  We are something moving so fast it is imperceptible to them.  Think about it they stand still motionless for eons on eons.  You begin to understand that their sense of time and movement is way different than ours.

So, I am not saying that the mountains are romantic or sentimental.  But the mountains do care in their fashion because Earth cares.  Earth is our planetary mother.  We are born from the elements on earth, within us at our center we share its hot molten core.  And then too our sun has it super-hot center.  We are in between those two burning sources of life.  And we are of course burning ourselves and will be consumed over time back into the elements.  We are indeed both Earth dust and Star dust.

So, I prefer to think the mountains do care, they can feel me when I tap on their rocky sides, they know that I am respectful of them and that I look up to them.  They simply cannot act directly upon me one way or the other because we are from different life clocks, ours crazy fast and theirs glacially slow.  We would need to live over eons for them to recognize us and be able to act together within the same life clocks
