Mosaic
These are essentially assemblies that bring in parts and groups them into forms. They like the mandalas tend to have strong symmetry and balance. However, these are simpler compositions and frequently feature flowers or other repeating forms and motifs.
I create some of the parts, and I borrow parts from existing work I have. What is new is how they are combined to form an engaging whole.
So, if you look closely and are a student of my work you will see forms that are lent from other work. Indeed, I have a fondness for certain art parts I have and I like to reuse them in new ways.
Take for example the composition “Dragonfly.” In reality I drew the dragonfly once, and then articulated it into four hues in Photoshop. I then originally put four of the dragonflies together to form a square. It then evolved where I brought in the dragonfly square and put four of them in a diamond formation. I then added a flower to the center and reeds on the borders of the square to give it an overall presentation. The flower and reed parts are from other work.
