A Short Analogy called “Away and Stay.” 23 Nov 25
Through the lens of a Halo Cactus, its life compared to our own lives.
I was inspired by a halo cactus seeing it through its season, and I had a Halo inspired thought, courtesy of a hike and encountering Halo cacti. Here’s what came to mind, I have been observing the Halo cactus, and in the Spring and Summer months this cactus produces its halo of flowers. They are giving their flowers away, that beauty for all to see. And then later, like now, in the Fall, they grow those little red tubes that look like tiny little red chili peppers in order to stay (seeds to propagate themselves).
AWAY (Giving your flowers)
STAY (Planting the seeds for your psychic renewal)
I thought about this and made an analogy to people using myself as a reference.
AWAY:
In life we have flowers we give away to others. What I mean, are flowers like kindness and praise. Or perhaps you create something and that’s your beauty, your flower and you give that away.
STAY:
Then there are things we do for ourselves in order to stay (self-preservation). Like the Halo cactus there is a time for others and giving away of yourself; and there is a time to do for yourself. By this I mean to propagate yourself by staying and planting renewal seeds in your psyche. You have to continually lay the seeds of yourself so your psyche continues to grow. And this self-growth supports the giving away to others – with the flowers you create.
We both give away to others and generate seeds of self to stay whole and growing. A balance is created with breathing in (stay), and breathing out (away).
